1. notice all the references to basis functions in 1d
2. realize I can just multiply them together to make a 3d version
3. confirm with a dude in my office
4. make an SVN repository for the matlab code I have right now
5. use mathematica to work out some math
6. can get a 2d thingy going in matlab (thickness and axial dir, with displacement in the radial direction)
7. get a 3d version going
8. make pat specific geometry
9. incorporate fluid simulation updates

from October 2007

1. write the modeling part of my thesis.
   • the concept of why we do shit on computers
2. clean it up
3. add pictures
4. send it to my committee
