links to code and such

New page

Every once in a while I get the urge to play, nay, to create a text adventure game. Then I realize what a pain it would be to do it correctly, so I just search for a text adventure game engine.

Yesterday, therefore, I found a link to three text adventure game engines, written in Tcl. Strictly speaking, I'm not familiar with the syntax of Tcl, but I've definitely seen "Tcl/Tk" countless times online. I copied the code for Fiction! (copy) and Basique (copy) to my machine, and presto (*)! I had a working text adventure.

(*) after installing Tcl 8.5

I'm now trying to tweak adventure.txt (note, it's called aventure.txt in the original code) to test the engine's abilities. (and my Tcl abilities)
