A travel-worn collection of 15 banknotes spanning 1976–2022 and eleven countries — Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Brazil, Hong Kong, Vietnam, the Philippines, Costa Rica, New Zealand, China, and Indonesia. The hero of the set is the New Zealand $5 — the Sir Edmund Hillary / Aoraki note, with a yellow-eyed Hoiho penguin on the back.
Mostly circulated notes in Fine–VF condition: a fun starter world-money lot and conversation piece, not an investment-grade collection. A few (Brazil cruzados, the Vietnam đồng, several Philippine peso notes) are demonetized and now collector-only.
Independently appraised: an AI-assisted valuation (one vision model per note + web research, 27 Jun 2026) estimated the 15 notes at roughly $20–61 USD total (~¥3,000–9,400) at individual collector prices — the NZD $5 the standout. Offered here as one lot for ¥5,555, below the midpoint. (Indicative estimate, not a formal grade.)
Why a new owner would be happy
- Eleven countries of currency design in one parcel — a great gift for a traveler, a geography spark for a kid, or a starter for a world-notes collection.
- The NZ $5 Hillary note is a genuinely loved design (first living person honored on NZ currency).
- One flat price for the whole lot — no hunting note by note.
