I'm thinking that this actually could be a viable platform for writing a journal. I'd just need to find/write an extension to handle indexing the entries in various ways: by name / by date / by last update.

On first glance, I would encoded the date within the entry name, but perhaps that wouldn't have to be the case. If we could detect the creation date and the last update date for each page in the Journal namespace, then we'd have enough data to do all three indices above... And.. arguably that's better than the system I have now, which is only indexed by name, which I've tied to entry date.

Oh, the only thing the above wouldn't offer is associating the entry with a date that's neither the create nor last update (which I've done more than once (e.g. my letter to myself in 10 years, which will be in 2016)). Perhaps that could be done by putting the individual journals in their own category, but that seems a bit messy.

I guess this would fall under saving metadata with the wiki page.
