Art:Heart Center, 2008
Perhaps the most storied tale of ownership for my pieces to date, I painted Heart Center for Ami in 2008. Then when it came time for my art show at The Pink Cow, I was desperate to get one more piece to finish out my total of nine little pieces for the show. I asked if I could enter her piece in the show.
I thoroughly altered it so that "her" painting wouldn't be on someone else's wall if it sold.
Sure enough, it did sell. Ami bought it for 3000 yen!
She left it in my room, and I put it up in the art show at ELF, and Denise inquired on its price. Ami didn't seem to mind (but turns out she didn't realize it was hers), and Denise bought it for 2000 yen plus shipping.
Several of my other friends asked about the piece.. Wow! I shoulda held an auction!
As of this writing (19 March 2009), Heart Center is on its way to Denise by Japanese post. I guess I won't be selling it again!
